Vanessa Laws, Director of Family Relations

Vanessa Laws started her professional life as a ballet dancer, graduating from the Bolshoi Ballet School, in Moscow, Russia. She developed her 20 yearlong artistic career dancing, teaching children and professionals, as a rehearsal director and administrator in the United States and Europe.

After the birth of her daughters, and inspired by her parenting journey, she returned to her Montessori legacy roots as a daughter and student, receiving her Association Montessori International (AMI) Diploma in Assistance to Infancy (0-3) in Prague, Czech Republic. She also holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and Education from the Boston Conservatory, as well as a certification as a Movement Lesson LLC. Practitioner – Functional Movement Teacher.

For the past three years, Vanessa has been founder and lead guide in a toddler community environment in Lyon, France for a French-English bilingual Montessori school and is very happy to join her Mother Maria A. Garcia and the Maitripa Tara School community.

Vanessa has also presented lectures to parents in Montessori pedagogy and practical applications. She holds a wide range of subjects of interests and self-study that includes Tibetan Buddhism (taking Refuge in 2003), Neuroscience, Yoga, Birth Assistance and Preparation, Feng Shui and Languages (English, Spanish, French, Russian).

In the spirit of the development of the good heart and following a strong calling for service and sharing, Vanessa’s inspiration is to support children and families during the beginning of life and to create the best conditions for their journey together.
