Maitripa Tara School: Vision and Update

Summer 2025

The Maitripa Tara School (MTS) stands at an exciting threshold. What began as a vision to create a Buddhist-inspired preschool is now maturing into something focused on sustainability and responsiveness to community needs — a transformative model of children’s education grounded in compassion, resilience, and spiritual values.

In the coming years, we are pivoting towards a model that reflects both the unique potential of our vision and the realities of our time. In the coming year (2025-26), prior to launching a full-scale preschool program, we plan to offer smaller, scalable, and deeply intentional programs — beginning with after-school and weekend sessions in Fall 2025. These programs will pilot our curriculum, build community, and serve as the seedbed for our long-term goals.

We invite you to journey with us as we shape this next phase — your continued interest, support, and connection are vital as we move forward.

Please join our e-list to receive updates and invitations to new programs and watch for more details to come!

Looking Ahead: Our 20-Year Vision

We are planting seeds now for long-term, sustainable growth:

–       Develop a signature curriculum blending Buddhism, contemplative education, and human development.

–       Operate under a distinct nonprofit structure while remaining spiritually and philosophically unified with Maitripa College.

–       Expand within Maitripa’s space or to nearby properties as needed.

–       Launch satellite and outreach programs that extend beyond our physical campus.

–       Embody a living mandala of intergenerational learning rooted in Buddhist wisdom.
